Good songs on the radio.

Isn't it the best when you hear a good song on the radio.  And I'm not just talking about the newest and most popular lady gaga song.  I'm talking about a song you haven't heard in a long time that's an oldie but a goodie.  Well today while I was driving, I heard TWO of these songs.  So here are my two songs of the day:

Wild Angels by Martina McBride
Red Neck Yacht Club by Craig Morgan

That's all for now,
Caiti.

*Edit to add*   I would like to add this song:

What Would You Do by City High

Phase 3 Mandatories=Dunzo.

So today I am going to turn in my Phase 3 Mandatories.  This includes 12 picture assignments and 3 picture plus design assignments.  But I don't really feel a huge sense of relief, because I know on Monday we are just gonna get assigned a ton more assignments.  But these past 2 days I have caught up on non-related things so I feel good about that.  Today after 5:00 pm I will be completely clear of all the things on my to-do list.  Other than laundry....... laundry is just bringing me downnn.  But it feels good to have all editing done for a few clients I shot back in January.

Here are a couple pics I took yesterday of my instructor, Greg Heisler.  He has photographed numerous celebrities and he recently shot the cover of Sports Illustrated with Derek Jeter on it.

busy busy busy bee

Hey guys.  Sorry for my lack of blogging these past couple of weeks.  Like I said before, I have a some big assignments right now at school so bla bla bla bla.....you get the point.  But I am writing to you today about my weekend with my dad and sister.  I will give you a little recap of all the awesome things we did.

Well they arrived on Thursday evening and right away we all cracked open an ice cold beverage.  Then, after our short little happy hour, we headed over to a restaurant called People's Pint.  I had a burger for the first time in about 5 months and it was MARVELOUS.  We then went to my apartment and I gave Kristin the grand tour.

On Friday, Kristin came to school with me in the morning.  I think she paid attention more than I did :)  ok so I KNOW she paid attention more than me.  I also think she referenced what she learned in those 2 classes as many times as she could the rest of the weekend.  For lunch, we met up with my dad for pizza at Antonio's.  There was leftovers so of course I kept them and will be enjoying pizza for lunch this week :)  In the afternoon, dad and Kristin both came to school with me and I photographed them both in the portrait studio.  It was a great time, and I think I got some great photos of them!  After that, we headed to Northampton and checked out all the cute little stores downtown.  Kristin found a birthday present for Jenny and we also went to this cute little candy store and we both picked out 2 chocolates to have for a bed time snack.  Kristin picked 2 mint ones, Dad chose one coconut one and one caramel one, and I chose one peanut butter one and one marshmallow one.  For supper, we ate at Taylor's Tavern in Greenfield.  My meal was ok.......yes, just ok.  Later at the hotel, we tried our chocolates.  I used my dads pocket knife to cut them all into pieces so we could all try each flavor.  Me and Kristin both voted that the chocolate and marshmallow one was the best.

On Saturday we woke up bright and early and headed for Boston.  Once we got there we went to the science museum.  It had some really neat stuff but it was extremely packed so it was hard to see everything.  We then went to this nearby mall and looked around a bit and then shared a small and late lunch.  We then started to head towards the hotel.  Traffic was really crazy though so it took us a very long time to get there.  After we got checked in we had a libation or two, then took a cab to Legal Sea Food.  Legal Sea Food is a really popular seafood restaurant that my friend Melissa suggested to us AND its where the White House gets their clam chowder for all of their inaugural dinners.

And finally on Sunday, me and Kristin went to Harry Potter; the Exhibition.  It was a special exhibition at the science museum but there weren't any tickets available when we were there on Saturday.  The exhibition included REAL props and costumes that were used in the movies.  It was AMAZING.  I didn't want to leave.  I got to see Hermione's pink dress she wore to the Yule Ball in HP and the Goblet of Fire, Lord Voldemorts flowy dress he wears in the graveyard scene at the end of the Goblet of Fire, and all of the actual wands they used---just to name a few specifics.  After Harry Potter, my dad picked us up and we went to Quincy Market.  We looked around a bit, then grabbed a quick lunch at the hugest food court ever.  We then drove back to Greenfield and went to the hotel.  For supper we ate at 99-an applebee's sort of restaurant--and then I worked out at the hotel. Me and Kristin bonded while watching the Kardashians and then we went to bed!

It was a great weekend and I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things at school.  I'm glad I was on top of all of my assignments so I am not feeling rushed after taking a few days off.  So here are a couple of pictures that Kristin, my dad, and me all took together on Friday.  Oh, how I love self timers!

Wedding Wednesday

Here is part 2 of Sarah and Andrew. All of these photos are from when they were getting ready.  I usually would shoot the groom getting ready, so that's why there's only one of Sarah :)

Wedding Wednesday

Hey everybody!!!  Sorry for the lack of posts this week.  School has been taking up almost every extra minute of my life lately!!!!  So I will quick update you of what has been going on in my life, then we will get to Wedding Wednesday.

So currently I am in Phase III in school and working diligently on our "Phase 3 Mandatories."  This include 15 pictures and a career business plan.  The due dates are coming up quick so why am I on here writing this blog??? Because I love all of my 20 followers THAT much.  haha.

So last night I went out for Chinese with a few friends--Vanessa, Kelly and Cali--- and had a really great time, plus the food was delish!!  It felt good to take a little break from school and staring at monitors all day long!  And plus now I have leftover sesame chicken for tonight!  Too bad I ate all of the sticky white rice last night...I love that stuff.  Does anyone know how to make it so its really sticky???

Ok enough about me and on to a NEW wedding.  This was Sarah and Andrew's special day.  They were both really cute and fun to work with.  Their day was a bit rainy though, but we made it work.  But you won't see any of those pictures today, because today's post is a SUPER SPECIAL wedding wednesday.  haha.  Its special because I'm going to take you step by step through Sarah and Andrew's "First Look."  For those of you who don't know, a First Look takes place before the ceremony (Gasp!) and it's for the bride and groom to have a special moment together and see each other for the first time.  Some of you may be thinking its taboo to see each other before the ceremony, but really that's just nonsense.  A First Look allows the bride and groom to get out their pre-wedding jitters and really allows for the couple to focus on each other when they see each other for the first time.  Another huge benefit is that it allows time to do all of the pictures BEFORE the ceremony, so we aren't rushing to get them done after.  I really love the first and it really does create some AWESOME pictures.  So here is Sarah and Andrew's first look-kind of like a little flipbook :)

Valentine's Day

So I kind of love Valentine's Day.  Maybe its because I've never experienced it single, or maybe because today I received flowers and a letter from my Valentine :)

Today Vanessa and I photographed two lovely ladies for a PR shot and then an "alternative" shot.  It went super well and was overall just a nice, relaxing day in the portrait studio.

So here's a pic I took in my house over Christmas break....

One Week.

One week till what you ask???  Well ONE WEEK TILL I GET TO SEE MY DAD AND SISTER that's what.  I'm super excited and it will be all kinds of fun.  My dad texts me almost every day with little things such as "got hotels booked and cars rented" and "everything is booked, just need activities."  And today he sent me "Caiti it will be your job to get snacks for the hotel. we will get beer."  Isn't he cute??   I love him so much and can't wait to see him next week!!!

Today me and Vanessa photographed 3 little munchkins.  And boy am I tired!!  I photographed a little boy named Emmett who has the biggest blue eyes ever.  And Vanessa photographed her niece, Bella, and her nephew, Emmett.  Note that all of these names are in Twilight.  hmmm......

So here are some pics from one day in school.  Enjoyyyyy!

Monday, monday

Hey all.  So today I got a chance to upload my pics from the weekend, and let me tell you, I AM IN LOVE.  Me and Vanessa photographed these two girls that seriously could have been models.  It was a lovely weekend in Boston, but also very quick!!!  We also went out to eat at this delicious restaurant called the Cottonwood Cafe and I had meat for the first time in probably 3 weeks.  This whole living on my own thing has turned me into a not-on-purpose-vegetarian.  Oh how I could go for a hamburger.....mmm.....  Ok so here is my family portrait I took over Christmas break.  Aren't we cute??
We could totally become a family band and use this as our cd cover........brilliant.

Busy as ever!

Today I had a super awesome day!!!!  I took a few photos of Vanessa's friend, Taasi, who is super gorgeous and fun.  I got some photos that I really love and will possibly use for one of my Phase 3 Mandatory Assignments!!!!

So, some of you may not know, but I am obsessed with looking at blogs.  I have over 50 photography and design blogs bookmarked on my computer and I check them daily.  They are great for inspiration and ideas.  And its so weird because once you start following a blog, you feel like your bffs with that person.  Haha. Its hard to explain.  But anyway, I follow this great design blog: http://www.kellyhicksblog.com/ and this past week she posted a free giveaway.  All you had to do was comment on her post and then you were automatically put in a random drawing for a handmade necklace that she made.  So I commented, and forgot about the whole thing within five minutes.  BUT today while I was just randomly checking my email, I got a message from her saying that I won the free necklace!!!!  It totally made my day!!

So tonight I'm going to the movie Dear John with Vanessa and her friend Lauren.  I just love Channing Tatum.  And tomorrow me and Vanessa are off to Boston!  We have a few shoots lined up, so we should be pretty busy!!!  I hope to get one more "for sure" shot for my Phase 3 Mandatories, and also see a little bit more of Boston!!   I also got to check out a sweet lense from the school so I'm super pumped about that!  Ok well thats all for now!!!  I hope you all have an awesome weekend, and I will have a new post for you (with pictures) on Monday!
